Battle Re-enactment & Living History Society
                           An Introduction...

Welcome to our Society of Infantry and Artillery who work side by side to defeat the
tyrannical forces of Napoleon Bonaparte. We recreate the lives of soldiers and camp followers
during the Napoleonic Wars, engaging in dramatic battles and living in period encampments. Our
society is made up of enthusiasts who gather to portray these unique regiments of Riflemen and
Gunners at events in Great Britain and overseas (More about The Society)
A little history...

Our Society re-enacts a period in which Great Britain’s military engagements
occupied its forces across the globe. The regiments saw action in the Americas,
the Iberian Peninsular and the ‘100 Days’ Waterloo campaign.

Formed in 1800 as ‘The Experimental Corp of Riflemen’ the 95th Rifles were
unique in their time as they were the only regiment of riflemen in the British
Army. It did not take long for this latest development in British Military
history to display its potential and acquire such a reputation that it would
become classed amongst the elite of Wellington’s Army.

The Royal Horse Artillery, raised in 1793 to provide fast moving artillery
for Cavalry, were often deployed in support of the Rifles. They would
be found fighting alongside the 95th throughout the period, even at
Waterloo, where they were equipped with yet another innovative
technology for the British Army - the Congreve Rockets (More History)
